He was a happy child and very good. His first memory is of getting a yellow dumper truck on his 4th birthday. He was always very good at art he got 5 O levels and an A level in art. He never really had a lot of homework to do, he spent a great deal of time painting toy soldiers, it was a complicated and skilled job, he was very enthusiastic and his parents Eugene (Jean) and Jack Taylor would take him to exhibitions around the country. Then suddenly he went right off it, although his parents still have his collection. AWWWWW,How cute!!!!:)lol

John's parents had no real indications that John wanted to be a pop star, he would listen to pop music a lot but not a great deal. His interest in music really began at the age of 14, he went out one day and came back with an acoustic guitar. He would sit in his room with a teaching manual and learn chords.

Then after John came home after an O'Level exam he announced that he was leaving school and wanted to be a professional musician. Jack and Jean said they would support him for a year then if nothing came of it then he would have to settle down to a career.

John always had a passion for cars as he grew up, of course his father Jack worked in the car business. he always said that he was going to buy a nice car, he did just that, cars he has previously owned included a Porsche, Delorean, Aston Martin DB6 mk II, and bought his parents a BMW.

At art college Johns first term exhibition won high marks, it was also used as back drop in the video for "My Own Way".
